Crossing Cards
Application forms are available at the Toll Houses or alternately apply on line. Pedestrians and cyclists may cross the Bridge free of charge. Drivers of motor vehicles may take advantage of an attractive discount facility by purchasing a crossing card. When a crossing card is purchased a set number of crossings is allocated to it. The more crossings purchased, the cheaper it becomes !

Concessions for Disabled People
For people in receipt of the higher rate mobility component of Disability Living Allowance, or Road tax exemption, a concessionary rate of £10 with unlimited crossings for a 12-month period is available on production of the relevant certification.  Disabled concession application forms are available on request by email, telephone, or in person from a bridge attendant.

How to use the Crossing Card
The Crossing Card can be detected by the card reader on the equipment from a distance of up to 12 inches (30cm). You do not need to insert the Crossing Card in a slot, just hold it close to the card reader and the system will be able to check whether or not it is a valid Crossing Card and therefore whether you can cross. A display on the equipment will tell you how many crossings you have left and there is a sign which will alert you when the number of crossings is getting low.

Purchasing / Recharging your card
You will need to recharge your Crossing Card before you run out of crossings and you can buy more crossings in a variety of ways:
Payment by cheque

The completed application form should be sent with appropriate remittance to the Bridgemaster or handed to a bridge attendant. A separate application form will be required for each Crossing Card to be recharged. 		  Payment by Credit/Debit Card

The facility to pay by Credit/Debit Card is available by one of the following:
• A completed application form with details can be posted or handed to a bridge attendant
• The card can be recharged by telephoning 0117 973 8008 between 8:30am and 3:30pm.
• On-line (see above)

Applicants requiring three or more Crossing Cards should make arrangements to collect them personally by ringing 0117 973 8008.
 


Lost Cards
If you lose your Crossing Card or it is stolen, the Crossing Card can be cancelled and a new Crossing Card issued to you with the balance of your crossings remaining. A charge of £10 will be made to cover costs. Contact the Bridgemaster's Ofice by letter, phone or email for further information.
