• 29th January 2008 I have recently seen a 1932 film made by the Morris motor company in which it is stated the the Clifton Suspension bridge was originally built to cross the Thames at Hungerford and moved to Clifton. No dates for this are given and I think it cannot be correct (is it?).  Do you know any reason why the narrator or Morris motor company might have thought that this was true? Mark
• 27th November 2007 I have a 'poor' condition commemorative coin for the opening of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Is this of any value? How many were issued? Is it worth getting it professionally cleaned?
• 26th November 2007 I understand that Gustauv Bffial (sic) was also involved with the bridge completion after Burnell (sic) died. I have visited this bridge and flew a kite in the park many years ago. This is where I was told this information regarding Effial (sic). Is it true? With Best Regards to our friends in England. • 20th September 2007 I have heard people say that there is a legend that the bridge is supposedly haunted.  Have any of the toll attendants or members of the public ever reported anything out of the ordinary ?
• 14th September 2007 When was the Clifton Suspension Bridge last painted?
• 13th August 2007 Prior to construction it is reported that Brunel crossed the gorge in a basket suspended from an iron bar and that he had to climb up to the wheels which propelled this contraption when he got stuck. Are there records of who was in the basket with him ? Family history claims a Mr King preventing him from falling out.

• 24th May 2007 Why do you insist that motorbikes pay to cross the Bridge? Do you understand how difficult it is when riding a motor bike fully kitted out to find 50p? I have to take gloves off and then undo my protective jackets to try and route around an inside pocket for a 50p. Then put it in the hopper (basket) then do all my kit back up again and then my gloves and then ride off.

Why is it that I can drive across to Wales on the much more costly and lengthier suspension bridge for free yet you charge 50p ?
• 9th March 2007 Are there plans for a better visitor centre? It seems that the visitor centre is a portakabin disguised with wooden slats. This seems wholly inappropriate given the engineering history and nature of the structure it is meant to celebrate. Are there plans to build a proper visitor centre that Brunel himself would approve of?
• 29th September 2006 I have been told by members of my family that the first to cross the Bridge were actually a number of sheep....
